Personal Development Opportunities
Societies
This is compulsory for all Year 12 students, in order to enhance their social development and journey towards their chosen career paths.
Students are assigned to a society that is linked to the academic courses that they are taking e.g. students studying A level or Btec Business will be part of the Business and Finance Society.
Society members attend webinars, trips, listen to external speakers, and develop skills in extra reading and research.
Each society has a lead, for which students must express their interest by applying for and undertaking an interview for this role.
Participation in a society is optional for Year 13 students, who will be more focussed on Year 13 exams.
Enrichment
The enrichment programme is compulsory for all Year 12 students. It provides learning experiences that go beyond the standard curriculum and is designed to enhance students' knowledge, skills, and personal development. Enrichment activities develop new interests, and build essential life skills.
Examples of enrichment activities are; reading to Year 7 students in form time, assisting teachers in KS3 or 4 lessons that correspond to the subjects studied or mentoring students in lower year groups.
Rewards are given for those students working above and beyond enrichment expectations.
