Duke of Edinburgh's award - bronze award

After the lockdown and the pandemic, I can’t think of anything that can benefit our young people as much as the Duke of Edinburgh’s award. It helps our students to be more resilient and to prepare them to be successful citizens in the future. Currently, Ms Talbot and her team have over 30 students following the bronze award (https://www.dofe.org/). They are in the process of building up to their expedition. Last Friday, they completed their practice expedition and camping. Next, they are planning for a walk from Westfield to Phasel’s Wood scout camp on the A41. They have to plan the route themselves, then hike in groups without teachers, carrying their provisions and camping equipment. They then camp at Phasel's Wood and have another hike the next day. It’s tough, but such a good experience. Thank you so much Ms Talbot and team and well done to all students.
